It is important to me that my books are as widely accessible as possible. Library access to the books means that those with limited financial means can access my novels for free. I am thrilled to report that libraries across the country have started picking up digital copies of both books. The Toronto Public Library system has three copies of The Woodcarver’s Model (with a waiting list to read the book), and Mann Hunt through Kindle Unlimited has 55 copies digital copies. If you are in another major Canadian city and have a public library card, you can recommend the book to the library and then they will consider it for their catalogue. If you live in one of the Canadian cities below, click on the name to see if you can access the book yet. If not, you can put in a request. And if you don’t see your city listed, simply check in with your local library and they will tell you how to make a recommendation. If you need any information on the book including the ISBN number or reviews, please let me know. Your assistance requesting the books means that others who can’t afford to purchase a copy can still access a favourite author, (including me!).

From October 18th to 22nd, I was in Portsmouth Virginia, representing Canadian Gay Fiction at the Gay Romance Lit Retreat. I’ll have FULL details on the conference in the November newsletter, but there was one fun promotion I did, that I can let you in on. Anyone from the conference who joined my newsletter (or joins prior to Halloween), will be put on a list, and on November 1st, I will randomly draw one name. A CHARACTER IN MY NEXT BOOK Hoodoo House (coming out June 25th with Pride Publishing) will be named after that person.
I realize that some folks who are already subscribed, might like a chance, so if you are already a subscriber and reading this post, then you don’t have to resubscribe … just leave a comment that says, “I want to be in Hoodoo House.” The winner will be annoucned in my November newsletter. For all the details (including the fine print) click here.
For those who joined my newsletter at GRL, you are already in the pool of names. This is going to be fun!

Finally, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a spooky recommendation for a book by another fabulous romance author. I can HIGHLY recommend the Darke Paranormal Investigations series by Rosanna Leo. The second book in the series Darke Music came out this past May and is PERFECT Halloween reading. And best of all, it’s set in Canada. Here’s the description.
*****
Historian Susannah Darke is no stranger to haunted houses. As one of a trio of ghost-hunting sisters, she’s had plenty of experience investigating the paranormal. When an opportunity arises to explore a haunted opera school in Toronto, she jumps at the chance, even though she once had her own frightening brush with its resident ghosts.
Noah Bellamy is the dean of the Asch Institute of Opera, and a former opera singer himself. He was once a student at the Asch and is well-acquainted with its boisterous spirits. But when the activity worsens, threatening one of his star students, he knows he has to take action.
The fact that Susannah and Noah have been hooking up for the past year complicates things, but they agreed long ago to keep things casual. As long as they both remember their boundaries, the investigation should go smoothly.
When the paranormal activity begins to target them personally, it becomes harder not to seek comfort in each other’s arms. For the first time ever, Susannah and Noah have to decide if it’s worth taking a chance on love.
The ghosts present a huge challenge, but battling their personal demons may be even harder.

I hope you enjoy the spooky season. If you are a reader, thanks for reading. And if you are an author in romance or mystery and want me to shout out about your books, drop me a line. I’m excited to grow an audience for new releases by other authors telling amazing stories.
I’ll be back in a few weeks with the full November newsletter and the name of the new character in Hoodoo House. Will it be you?
Warmest Regards,
