Last week, Hoodoo House was already ranking #196 in Police Romance Books. That’s a pretty great number for a book that has just gone into preorder. And I think the book is going to see a lot more action after the sale this week for Mann Hunt.

I’m thrilled to be participating in the International Queer Film and Art Festival as a featured author. This two week festival showcases queer artists in film and literature including interviews, panels and features on the work of queer artists. Last week I did an interview with the organizer Robert Jerome Pagan, and I will be taking part in a panel on publishing in the queer industry this week. For more information on the festival check out the promotion video by clicking here.

I am excited to tell you that my youth novel Not Not Normal has an official release date. The book will be coming out on September 3rd. I will be talking more about this in upcoming newsletters. I can’t wait to share this tender story with you. If you loved the Heartstopper novels or TV series, you are going to ADORE Not Not Normal.

On April 19th, The Woodcarver’s Model celebrated the second anniversary of its release. The book was a four time nominee in the Goodreads Readers’ Choice Awards for M/M Romance and has brought a lot of joy to a lot of readers. If you haven’t read the book, respond to this newsletter with a comment, and I will choose one lucky reader and send a FREE e-copy of the book to celebrate the occasion.

Finally, a note of thanks to the cast and team that worked on my mini-musical (written with Scott White) The Detective Disappears for Smile Theatre. This show toured Ontario and concluded its five week tour on the 13th of April. Actors Geoff Whynot, Tim Machin and Rennie Wilkinson, (along with stage manager Sam Rosenthal) took this show to seniors’ facilities around southern Ontario spreading laughter and joy. This production is a first step towards a mainstage mount down the road. I’ll share more information about that early next year.

In the meantime, thanks for reading. In the next few newsletters I look forward to sharing excerpts of Hoodoo House, a behind-the-scenes look at cut chapters from the book, information on upcoming events linked to Pride festivities, and the reveal of the cover for Not Not Normal. In the meantime, thanks for reading.

Warmest Regards,

Peter E. Fenton
