Book 2 of the Declan Hunt Mysteries Series

How far would you be willing to go to keep a secret?
When writer Malcolm Tull is discovered dead at his writing desk, all signs point to suicide. But Malcolm’ s editor isn’t so sure. There’ s the matter of the man’ s missing computer, a mislaid manuscript and the fact that he didn’t seem the type to take his own life.
Declan Hunt and Charlie Watts are called into action and make their way to the mysterious Hoodoo House nestled on the edge of the Badlands of Alberta. Soon they are embroiled in a case involving blackmail, gay tricks and possibly even murder.
As the secrets of Hoodoo House come to light, Charlie discovers that his boss has been keeping a few secrets of his own, secrets that could impact their romantic relationship outside of the office. And before this investigation is done, Charlie will have to get to the truth, even if it means this might be his final case for Declan Hunt Investigations.

“Peter delivers yet another captivating story with the second instalment of The Declan Hunt Mysteries. Peter has a way with connecting all the characters, winding them together in a way that blows your mind. That twist towards the end had me completely caught off guard and tears began to flow. The side characters, specifically Mrs. Cameron and Henry, were an absolute delight to witness their growth, especially Henry’s young inquisitive mind! And you have to love a kid with no fear, once he puts his mask on of course?”

“I really enjoyed this book with the engaging MC’s and a gripping story line holds your attention. It is fun, steeped in mystery, with secrets, danger, and various intriguing characters.
Charlie and Declan together are so sweet! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next!”

“The saga of Declan and Charlie continues, deepens, and entertains in their second adventure, Hoodoo House. The detective and his computer-expert (and secret crush) assistant get a case that seems to sprout arms as they dig into it, centered around a house that is a tribute to a well-loved writer. When a writer in residence turns up dead, the secrets spill out in surprising ways.
Fenton knows his way around a mystery, and he creates a wonderful character in a 13-year-old boy with more bravado than sense. (And weren’t we all?) And the relationship between our two heros grows as well. Their steps towards love are endearing
The current case may end here, but the mystery and the romance goes on. Can’t wait for the third episode, coming next year.”

“This book has the balance of mystery and romance. The story is told from several viewpoints which kept things fresh and was enjoyable to read the different characters perspectives. A solid addition to this series. I look forward to Declan and Charlie’s next case.”

“Another fantastic Declan Hunt mystery! I loved the first book in the series and had high hopes for this one. It definitely held up to those! Murder, intrigue, and twists and turns keep you hooked through the entire story. Add in the budding romance between Declan and Charlie and it makes a fantastic book!”

“So I started this, instantly knew I was going to LOVE it so went back to read book 1 first 😊 and I loved the both of them!!!
The MCs are believable and their whole story just pulls you in from the very start. This isn’t just your average MM romance, there’s so much more in here and it really does draw you in to the world. It’s fun and funny (2 different things IMO) but there’s also a bit of danger, a lot of mystery and secrets and 2 of the most amazing MCs I’ve read for a long time.
Charlie and Declan really are adorable but Declan’s ‘professionalism’ keeps him at bay (I wont say more because, ya know, spoilers!) but they truly were made for each other!!
Lots of twists and turns, lots of fun reading and a really good book that I just could not put down 😊”
