It’s time to finally reveal a visual image of Charlie, one of the main characters in Hoodoo House, the second book in the Declan Hunt Mysteries series. The novel comes out June 25th, and I think it is safe to say that excitement is running high for the sequel to Mann Hunt. How do I know this? Well, the publisher was so excited to talk about the book that they put it out for pre-sale ahead of schedule. As a result, the book started trending (and took the number two spot with the publisher in popular books), before it even officially went on sale.

And the publisher isn’t the only one who thinks this book is going to take the M/M Romance and Mystery world by storm. One of the major marketing powers in the publishing industry is a site called Book Bub, which matches publishing deals with hot new novels. They have promotions which are carefully curated (and difficult to get). When they select a book for promotion, it sends a direct mailing to thousands and thousands of subscribers promoting the book. I am thrilled to say that Mann Hunt was selected for a Book Bub deal. What this means is that from April 22-28, the e-book version of Mann Hunt will be on sale for only 99 cents.

Usually a Book Bub deal sells a huge number of copies of books, and the great news is that when every reader gets to the end of Mann Hunt, they will be able to read the prologue to Hoodoo House and click on a link for their pre-order for the second book in the series. So if you haven’t read Mann Hunt yet, go to any e-retailer between April 22 and 28th and get your 99 cent copy.

I am so excited to be taking part in the first Northern Rainbow Romance Retreat. If you are in the Toronto area and have never been to a gay romance writer’s conference, then this is a chance to meet an amazing array of authors, pick up books of interest (and there is something for EVERY interest), and get them autographed by the authors. The NRRR is offering a chance to win a VIP Reader’s package valued at $200. To enter click here.

Part of the work of becoming a better writer is reading as much as one can. I must confess that my “to be read” pile of books beside the bed is sometimes taller than I’d like it to be, particularly when I’m busy writing, doing promotions or travelling. Still, I try and set aside a little bit of time each day to read, and I ensure that my reading includes things outside of the genre I write. This month, I’d like to give a mention to J. Scott Coatsworth, a fiction writer who creates vast worlds. The Hencha Queen is a fascinating read. The blurb for the book is below.
Silya finally has everything she always wanted. She’s the Hencha Queen, head of the Temple, and is working to master her newfound talents. So why does the world pick now to fall apart? Her once-nemesis Raven is off riding dragons, and their mutual friend (and her ex) Aik is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, a new threat menaces the Heartland from the East, and if she can’t convince a reluctant Gullton city council to prepare for the worst, she may lose everyone and everything she’s ever cared about.
As she uses her magic-like abilities, wit and sheer determination to try to save the city, she’s joined by Raven and his new friends. Will their help tip the scales? And will they finally find out what happened to Aik as a dark storm threatens to sweep them all away? Forget messy. Things just got apocalyptic.
The Tharassas Cycle is a four book sci-fantasy series set on the recently colonized world of Tharassas. When humans first arrived on planet, they thought they were alone until the hencha mind made itself known. But now a new threat has arisen to challenge both humankind and their new allies on this alien world.

In the upcoming weeks the newsletters will be a bit more frequent until the release of Hoodoo House. I’ll be sharing deleted excerpts, special sneak previews and information about the launch. Until then, thanks for reading.
Warmest Regards,

I am so happy for Peter. I had the privilege of speaking with him recently, and I was impressed by his kindness and helpfulness to me – a new author. I hope everyone will give the book the support Peter deserves.
“Hoodoo House” looks great (the cover is awesome), and I’m eager to read it when it is released.
