I promised in this week’s installment that I would give a sneak peek at the early reviews, but first I wanted to talk about some of the people who have helped get the word out. Without them, nobody would know that I had written another book. Tosha And Jade’s Book Corner on Instagram is an amazing bookstagram site that focuses on M/M romance, and has over 10 000 followers. I met Tosha (it is Jade in the picture) at a book conference a few years back, and her love of the books has introduced so many readers to The Declan Hunt Mysteries series. I am truly grateful for that.

Queer Romance Ink run by Scott Coatsworth is a massive queer site filled with reviews, listings of books, sales and giveaways. It is an amazing space to find pretty well any type of queer writing you would like, and Scott has been terrific at doing interviews for my books. This is a much valued site in the community.

Heather Smith of MM & MMM+ Romance Reviewed has also made a huge impact on my career, but in a completely different way. Heather started The Northern Rainbow Readers & Writers Event and ran it for two years, allowing professional development for authors who are working in M/M Romance as well as other queer authors finding their voice. She has been an advocate for the work of Canadian authors and has poured heart and soul into writers who are trying to get their stories out there. It was at the event in 2025 that I finally met a blogger whose review is still one of my all time favourites.

Heather Duff of Not Guilty Of Books has shared her opinions on my work since my very first novel. So what was the review quote that I loved so much? She reviewed The Woodcarver’s Model, and the quote was , “This is damn good!”

Conferences are an important way to meet readers and passionate bloggers, and I am happy to be back this year at the Love and Romance in Toronto book signing and conference. Menotah and Nadine run a fun and busy event each spring, and they also review books on their bookstagram account at Canadian Girl Reads. It is really worth checking out.
