Fall Fun With Peter E. Fenton

The Month of October has been a busy time. This update has the latest news on a public reading held last month in Toronto, information on how The Woodcarver’s Model is spreading across the country through public libraries, recent reviews, new work, and if you read to the end, you can find out how you might be selected to receive an autographed copy of a poster and novel of The Woodcarver’s Model.

On October 16th, a lively crowd came out to hear a reading from The Woodcarver’s Model. I also provided an exclusive sneak peek into the world of my new book Mann Hunt. There was food and drink, lots of books were sold and it was wonderful to do an event in-person. Thanks to the Madison Pub for their gracious hospitality and to all those who came out and made the afternoon so special.

It is important to me that my books are as widely accessible as possible. I am thrilled to report that libraries across the country have started picking up digital copies of The Woodcarver’s Model. The Toronto Public Library system has three copies (with a lengthy waiting list to read the book), and the Edmonton Public Library has joined in. If you are in another major Canadian city and have a public library card, you can recommend the book to the library and then they will consider it for their catalogue. Click one of the Canadian cities below to see if you can access the book yet. If you don’t see your city listed, simply check in with your local library and they will tell you how to make a recommendation.

The Woodcarver’s Model continues to garner great reviews, and just passed 50 ratings on Goodreads with an average review of over 4 stars. If you haven’t had a chance to add your voice to the feedback on the book, you can click on the links below to leave a review. Mann Hunt is my latest book, and after substantial revisions, it is now with the publisher. Watch this newsletter for information as the piece goes through editing, gets its new cover and moves towards release dates in the spring. This novel follows gay detective Declan Hunt as he tries to unravel a murder case, along with his new assistant Charlie Watts. The novel is filled with twists and turns, humour, mystery and lots of fascinating characters.

My latest project is a youth novella dealing with loss, the things we do to take control of our lives, and how a single individual can shake us out of those patterns and get us back to life. The novella has gone through a full first draft and is in revisions before submission. I won’t say much more at the present, but it is exciting to be delving into fiction for young audiences.

With the holidays fast approaching, perhaps you have someone who is hard to shop for, and you don’t know what to get them that is unique and fun. Why not give the gift of love? You can order The Woodcarver’s Model through the links below, pick up a signed copy in Calgary at Shelf Life Books or in Toronto at Queen Books OR you can be put into consideration to receive a FREE autographed copy of the novel along with an autographed poster (frame not included). Here’s all you have to do.

Indicate in the comments section that you are interested OR, follow me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/peterefentonbooks/

On December 1st, I will randomly select one person from those comments or those that followed me on Instagram between November 1st and December 1st and will send out the poster and autographed book to ONE lucky reader. Good luck to all who express interest.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that your November is filled with chances to curl up with a good book.

Warmest Regards,

Peter E. Fenton
