The holidays are one of my favourite times of year. I love the food, the parties and the chance to reflect on the year past and set goals for the year ahead. 2022 has been a very good year for my debut novel, The Woodcarver’s Model and I look forward to sharing my new novel Mann Hunt with readers in 2023.
But first some exciting news about award nominations, the winner of the signed poster and autographed book, and information on a holiday sale on the novel. For those in Calgary, I’ve added information on where you can pick up an autographed physical copy of the book … and as a bonus … a recipe for the delicious treats at the top of the newsletter.
The Woodcarver’s Model Is A Reader’s Choice Nominee

The Woodcarver’s Model was nominated in the Goodreads M/M Romance Member’s Choice Awards in four categories including; Best Book of the Year, Best Contemporary, Best Hurt/Comfort and Best Performance/Visual Arts. The voting will begin in December. I was thrilled to be included among some incredible nominees. A special thanks to all those that nominated the book and have read it this year.
ONE LUCKY READER WON A PRIZE

Everyone who signed up for the newsletter or joined my Instagram page during the month of November was entered into a draw for an autographed poster and a signed copy of the book. I listed all of the names in order, put a number in front of each one and then had my partner randomly select a number. I am pleased to say that the winner is Anne Cunningham. Congratulations. I will be in touch with you to arrange shipping for the poster and book.

This recipe has three simple ingredients and has a nice salty and sweet flavour, plus it adds festive colour to any candy bowl or sweets tray! All you need is some green and red M & M’s, some square pretzels, and some Hershey Chocolate Hugs.
1 | Preheat oven to 250F degrees. |
2 | Line baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Align pretzels on the sheet. Unwrap Hugs and place one on each pretzel. Stick in the oven until the hug begins to melt down (about 4 minutes; it depends on your oven). |
3 | While the Hugs are melting in the oven, get your M&M’s ready because you will have to move quickly once they are out of the oven. |
4 | Remove pretzel hugs from oven and gently press an M&M down on each one. The Hug should flatten out when you press the M&M on it. If it is not flattening out, place the pretzel hugs back in the oven for 30 more seconds. |
5 | Let the pretzel hugs cool completely and let the chocolate set for about 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Enjoy! |
From our household to yours, I hope that whatever your holidays hold that they are filled with good food, good friends and the chance to curl up with a good book.
Warmest Regards

Peter E. Fenton
