Peter E. Fenton Fall Newsletter

September was an incredibly busy month, and I look forward to sharing not only news of what happened, but also, what’s coming up. This month’s edition has links to an interview, a giveaway, pictures of the book launch for The Attercop as well as a new book of poetry. So read on.

On September 23rd, sixty friends and fans from across Canada joined me at The Churchmouse Pub in Toronto to officially launch The Attercop. The evening was hosted by my partner Scott who interviewed me about my writing and then there were readings from two new books. YES, you read right … TWO books. Since this was also a celebration of my 70th year, I decided to release a new collection of poetry as a gift to those who attended.

The poems in this collection are from a much earlier and darker period of my life. And there may be a lot of triggers for some readers as the material deals with everything from grieving, to depression, to poems about abuse. This isn’t standard Peter E. Fenton fare, but the poems have a power and I wanted to share them as opposed to leaving them hidden in a box. And there are lighter poems as well. If you are interested in reading the poetry, it is available on Amazon by clicking here.

As a special surprise, two of my friends found a way to turn the images of Declan and Charlie into mini action figures. The design was created through various renderings which were printed in a 3D printer and then hand-painted. The process was several hours of programming, 90 minutes each per figure for 3D printing and about 10 hours each of hand painting. These are one-of-a-kind bespoke gifts, and I was moved by the gesture and also the talent of my friends.

On September 20th, just prior to the book launch, J. Scott Coatsworth did an interview with me for Queer Romance Ink. Find out which three authors I would invite to dinner if I could choose any authors in the world. Curious? The full interview can be found by clicking here.

I am also collaborating with Queer Romance Ink on a giveaway. If you join their mailing list you can get FOUR e-pub books for free. To get all the details, click here. But act fast. The promotion only goes until the end of the month.

J. Scott Coatsworth and Kim Fielding have a new fantasy book coming out. Search For The Lost is book two of a series, but the first book is on sale for all of October for only 99 cents. Here’s the description.

SOMETIMES ORDER BECOMES CHAOS…

Leopold Lane—after being “collected” for the Office of the Lost by Crispin Eladrin
Moss’caladin—is tucked away cozily with his beloved office fae in their treehouse. Happily ever after, right? Not so fast.

Before Leo can even get settled, Crispin’s mother disappears, leaving Crispin in charge and his brother Aspin in a panic. As Queen of the Fae, she has also left them a little surprise: a bit of oxymoronic magic that turns their world upside down.

Crispin and Leo set off in search of the queen and a solution to their predicament. Aspin tags along, with some less-than-helpful friends. On the way they will discover important family secrets and learn new things about each other… and themselves. Nothing is simple when Chaos and Order get involved. Besides, it wouldn’t be a proper quest if it was straightforward, would it?

Book One is On Sale Everywhere for just 99¢ from October 1st-31 st :

I never imagined in 2022 when my first book came out, that there would be five other books by the end of 2026. And there will be more. But the next book is going to take a little longer and will be a bit different than the last. Still a mystery. Still gay central characters. Perhaps a little less romance and a bit more mystery. I will keep you posted as it evolves.

In the meantime, thanks for following my writing journey. Until next time.

Warmest Regards,

Peter E. Fenton

  1. Peter, thank you for sharing your event, as well as more personal items regarding your life and a semi-normal person. Please do not take that statement as a slight. Each and everyone of us who have walked through the process of discovering ourselves as somewhere on a spectrum of sex and gender identity. It takes some of us longer than others, and not one of us has what I would call the usual and normal path to get to where we are today. That journey, in my estimation, marks all of us in ways that might be similar and ways that can not be reproduced beyond ourselves. I am proud of you Peter, and I have read all of your books! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity in your art of telling stories. For those of us who relish reading those stories, please keep at it!
